Pharrell Williams Returns for Despicable Me 2 Soundtrack

Aiming to re-create the musical harmony they achieved with the original Despicable Me, Pharrell Williams and composer Heitor Pereira have once again created music for the soundtrack to the highly-anticipated Despicable Me 2.

Featuring three new soulful songs by Pharrell that include the film’s lead single, “Happy,” as well as “Scream,” which features CeeLo Green, the forthcoming soundtrack has something for listeners of all ages. The Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, which also features songs performed by the Minions and a musical score by Heitor Pereira, will be available for pre-order on June 4, and it hits shelves on June 18.

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster Despicable Me entertained audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. In summer 2013, get ready for more Minion madness in Despicable Me 2.

Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy adventure featuring the return of (former?) super-villain Gru (Steve Carell), his adorable girls, the unpredictably hilarious Minions…and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.  The film hits theaters on July 3rd!
