Alternative Rock Band SaucyMonky

After bursting into the Top 40 AAA market with “Disco Ball (Boulevard Remix)” in 2005, SaucyMonky‘s music was soon being heard everywhere from Nickelodeon’s iCarly to Blue Bloods and Alcatraz as well as films, including And Then Came Lola and Amexica. The band invaded Europe on tour and shared the stage with PJ Harvey, The Black Eyed Peas, P!nk, and Wilco. However, the eventual break up of duel front-women Cynthia Catania and Annmarie Cullen as a couple threatened to break up the band as well.

The Los Angeles based alt-rock band powered through the tumultuous time to return with a series of EPs certain to make an impact on the US. Trophy Girl Part 2, the second in the series, is due out 6/25 and showcase the band’s 90s influences, sounding akin to Garbageor Sneakerpimps and with the feminine vocal force of Alanis Morrisette. Catania (vocals, guitars, keyboards) and Cullen (vocals, guitars) are supported and propelled by the rhythm section of Steve Giles on bass and Alexa Brinkschulte on drums.
