“168” Speed Filmmaking Contest Gala

“168” is a faith-based, worldwide competition, in which teams make a short film in 168 hours (1 week). The films were all 10-min. or less in length, based on randomly assigned “Atonement”-themed scriptures will unspool over the course of three days.

Presenting Sponsor EchoLight Studios and its CEO (former Presidential candidate) Rick Santorum have set the potential purse in excess of $1 Million, propelling the competition to new heights and double the entries of ever before. EchoLight Studios is an indie studio and prolific source of faith, values and family-friendly films with name talent and an eye on quality. EchoLight partnered with the winning short film artist to produce a feature film. The studio features a full film distribution platform servicing theatrical, home video, digital/VOD and broadcast in both domestic and international markets.

Gold Sponsors included Columbus, Ohio’s Advent Media, a boutique production, post and web services company, which powers the 168film.com website and Roush Media specializing in on-set dailies and 4K post services. Roush provided a signature post-production services to Best Picture, Best Director of Photography and to Best Editor.

Silver Sponsors included Mission Pictures a motion picture sales, finance, production and distribution company; MovieGuide a family guide to entertainment; EIKI a digital display and presentation solutions company, which donated projectors for the 168 Film Festival; Red Digital Cinema, which donated a “Reducation” filmmaker training package for the Best Producer and ikan , which manufactures digital video and DSLR gear for professional image makers and has donated lighting and accessory kits to Best Director and Best Director of Photography.

The field was reduced from 152 entries to the remaining seven (7) ‘Best Film’ Nominees eligible for the Grand Prize, a feature film budget up to $1 Million from presenting sponsor EchoLight Studios.
